Cascina Scova: historical notes






The foundation of Cascina Scova is about 1600; it takes the name from the meaning of the word "scova" in pavian dialect: broom ("scopa") farmstead ("cascina"). In the surrounding area, in fact, there was the spontaneous growing of broomcorn.

Historical rumors report Cascina Scova had a role in the Italy campaign of Napoleone Bonaparte as base for encampment of the soldiers, because in four centuries ago the battlefields where away from city walls. From 1994 to 2003 the greenhouse with exemplary of camphor plants has been location for private and business events; they have been our Guests, in order to cite some of them: Coccola, DHL, Computer Associates, Lancia, Unes, Pall, Carialo, P&O, Ricordati, Mediolanum, Avsi, Dra, Villaggi Sos, Ikea, Benkiser Italia...

Today, after two years of restructuring, inside the old greenhouse the spaces have been reorganized in a resort of 39 rooms, a cityspa, meeting and event rooms.
